Ethan's 1st Birthday Party

We had Ethan's party at a park by our house. The weather ended up being icky so I thought it was going to ruin everything. I wasn't able to put the balloons out and most of the decorations up, but other than that it was so much fun. So many people showed up. We had a huge barbecue with tons of food. The kids were able to play at the park, and we also had a blow up bouncy house and pinatas. It did start pouring rain at one point, but luckily we were under a covered pavilion. Ethan got so many presents, I couldn't believe how spoiled he was. He is just so well loved! Ethan got his very own cake. At first he was a little hesitant, but eventually he was diving in, and there was no taking the cake away from him. He made such a mess, but it was so cute. He is such a big boy now!!

Ethan's Summer

Ethan had a pretty fun summer!! It started by going to San Francisco in July for a family reunion. Ethan got to fly on his very first airplane. He did surprisingly well. When we landed in Oakland, we drove to San Fancisco where we got to ride on a big boat to Alcatraz!! It was a really fun experience.After that we did alot of other tourist things, we went to Fisherman's wharf, China town, and than drove to San Jose where we went to the Winchester Mansion. We spent a couple of days in California and spent alot of time with family. We had so much fun! In August, we went to the zoo for the first time for PaPa's Birthday. Ethan had so much fun, he was in awe the whole time. He loves animals!! Jason's birthday was the beginning of Sept., and Ethan and I got him Rock Band and Wii. Ethan loves playing the drums! A couple of days later, our friend Jenny brought Ethan an early birthday present. He loves this zebra. Once he learned how to get on and off on his own, he played on it forever. He is so cute and smart!! After opening his present, we went to the Utah State Fair where Ethan played tons of games and won tons of toys and he got this pimpin cowboy hat. He had alot of fun, but eventually he got tired and we had to go home. That is pretty much Ethan's summer. In between all of this fun traveling and going places, Ethan started walking!!! He is so good at it too, it was like one day he just decided he could walk, and he just took off. He cracks me up. We love him so much!!

New Updates

Hey everyone!!! Sorry it has been so long since I have added anything to Ethan's Blog. I have just been very busy. I will try to remember everything that has happened since the last post. Towards the end of April, Ethan got his first really bad cold. He had a really high fever, and the doctor told us to put warm rags on him. I don't know about you, but I have never seen anything look so cute in a washcloth!

About the same time, we decided that since Ethan can sit up and play on his own, he is big enough to start taking "big boy" baths. That just means that we took the little baby sling out of the bath and let him play with his toys. He loves it sooo much. He just splashes so much that he makes such a mess. Seeing him act like that made us think that he would love to have a pool. We were right, he loves playing in the pool. We bought him cute little swim trunks and a cute little blow up pool. He loves it!!On May 17th Me, Jason, and Ethan were sealed together in the Jordan River Temple. It was such a great experience. Ethan had such a good time in the nursery, and all the little old ladies said what a cute, fun little boy he was. I have to agree!!

Around the beginning of June, we decided to take Ethan to the Aquarium. He had so much fun. He wanted to touch all the fish, and he kept picking at the seahorses with his thumb and finger. He really just wanted to touch them. Well, he did get to touch something. He got to pet a stingray. They were really cool, they come right up to you and let you pet them.

The other day we took Ethan to the petting zoo. First he got to ride a pony, and than he got to go play with all the animals they had there. He had so much fun. He loves animals. Well besides all that, Ethan has changed soooo much the past couple of months.. At about 7 months he started saying baba dada mama lala and blahblah. His favorite is baba and dada. He loves to yell those two. He is funny. Also at about 7 months he started getting up on all fours and scooting, now he is a crawling machine. He is so fast. He climbs up on everything, and gets into whatever he wants. At 8 months he got his first tooth, and 2 days later got his second tooth. He acts like they are private and will not let anyone see them without putting up a good fight. Now that they are bigger, you can see them alot when he talks and smiles. About 2 weeks ago, Ethan learned how to clap. When you say "Ethan Clap" he gets super excited and claps forever. It is super cute. The same day he started doing that, he surprised us by climbing onto the coffee table and while holding on, he walked from one end to the other. Something we do with Ethan, is say "How big is Ethan?" and than raise his arms over his head while saying "SOOO Big!" Well he has let us know that he no longer needs our help raising his arms over his head. So when we say that he just does it on his own. I can't believe how big he is getting. It is crazy to think that he is already 9 months old. Well I will try not to be such a slacker and post more often!

Ethan's 1st Easter

So, this was Ethan's first Easter! We had alot of fun. On Saturday we colored Easter eggs at Nana and Papa's with Kim, Bela, Chase and Maylee. Ethan even colored his very own egg!! He is already so creative. That night we went to say Goodbye to my Grandpa Barney (he passed away on Easter morning). I really think that Ethan knew what was going on. He just talked and smiled at my Grandpa like he was telling him what to expect. It was super sweet. The next morning we went to church and than Ethan got to open all the stuff that the Easter bunny brought him. We then went to his Grandma and Grandpa Martindale's and he got another Easter basket there. We than went to Grandma Vae's house and he got a little bunny. He also went on an Easter egg hunt and played on the swing set. He had so much fun! On the following Wednesday we went to my Grandpa Barney's funeral. Ethan wore his little suit. He is so handsome. My Grandma and Grandpa are buried really close to my brother Trent, so Ethan got to see his Uncle Trent's grave for the first time.

Ethans 6 month check up

Ethan had his 6 month checkup! He is in the 40 % for his weight at 16 1/2 lbs. He is off the charts for his height at 28 1/2 in. He is sooo long. He no longer fits in his carseat so we had to get him a big boy seat. While we were out we did a little shopping and bought him a couple cute outfits. Here is one of them. Doesn't he look like a little P.I.M.P? Oh, also I was able to find a picture of his first Halloween that I said I couldn't find in this first Post, so here it is.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Today is Ethan's first St. Patricks Day. He wore all green and even had a Clover shaped bib. He ate with a green spoon and ate green beans for dinner. He is super cute. His Grandma Vae came over and brought him a cute little Panda Bear Beanie Baby that he wanted at the store but I wasn't able to get it for him. That's what Grandma's are for!!! Anyway, tomorrow is Ethan's 6 month birthday!!! Happy 1/2 Birthday to Ethan!!!

Rocker Baby

Ethan went to his first concert on Saturday. Not really, we went to his uncle Rob's birthday party where everyone dressed up as rockers and played Rock Band. His Aunt Kim told me that he was the hit of the party!!

Quick Catch Up

Hey Everyone! This is Ethan's first entry, so we are going to do a quick catch up. Ethan was born on September 18, 2007 in West Jordan, UT. He was 1 month early and weighed in at 9 lbs 1 oz. He was 19 inches long. Ethan rapidly grew in length. His first month of life he grew an inch a week. He developed Reflux, which makes him throw up alot, so he is tall and skinny. for his first Halloween he was a hot dog, but for some reason I don't have a picture of that on the computer. He did have a Halloween outfit that his aunt Jenny got him which is pictured above. His first Thanksgiving was fun. He got a turkey shirt that he looked so cute in.

For Christmas we decided to send out cards with his picture on it. Here are a couple of others that were taken. Oh, he is just so cute.That bear in the picture is a bear my friend Crystal gave him and it is his favorite toy. We have named him Rupert the bear. Anyway, In January was his 4 month appointment. He was in the 95th percentile for his lenght (27 inches) and the 50th percentile for his weight (14 1/2 lbs). The doctor gave us the ok on baby food and rice cereal with a spoon!! He absolutely loves it. He eats soooo much!! Well now he is 5 1/2 months, and his favorite things are playing in his saucer, watching his Little Playdates movies that our friend Crystal E. gave him and baths. He loves bathtime!! On March 2nd was his blessing. He wore the cutest little suit that Nana and Papa bought him. Oh, I can't forget that we went to the car show where little Ethan got his first tattoo!!

Don't worry, it washes off. Well, I think that about sums up the first 5 1/2 months of Ethans life, and we will continue to keep you posted!!
